VENUE BOOKLETS

MAR 2018

The Client

The Barn at Hotel Drover is in the Forth Worth Stockyards in Texas. It offers a unique venue for special celebrations - whether it be for a wedding ceremony, reception, or a corporate event. The barn provides guests with state-of-the-art technology and fantastic service. It's rich history and modern architecture provide a nice variance for any occasion.

My Task

My task was to help create an identity book for The Barn that equally exhibited its two offerings. The book needed to cater to guests who were looking at venues for business events. Also, it needed to showcase a wedding aesthetic that would ring true for folks who were looking at it for that.

Goals

  • Art Direction: Rustic and professional yet elegant and inspiring

  • Include a large amount of imagery to showcase The Barn and its offerings

Solution

The challenge with this piece was to have it not feel too bridal or too corporate. To achieve this, the piece focuses on The Barn's atmosphere and feeling you'd get being there. A lot of the photos were also pulled from online sources as The Barn was not yet finished at the time. To have the balance of both offerings, each spread speaks to both wedding and corporate. Also, a lot of the images used could be for both types of events. There was also a balance within the typography. We chose a script and a serif font to play on the elegance and professionalism the piece had to convey.

JAN 2018

The Client

The McCormick is an upscale resort located in Scottsdale, AZ. They offer a stunning wedding venue that overlooks Camelback Lake, Camelback Mountain, and their golf course. They also provide wonderful services and amenities that the wedding party and guests would enjoy.

My Task

My task was to help create a digital wedding brochure that showcased its offerings for weddings. The brochure focused on the setting and the feeling that you'd get being there in those moments. We wanted to spark inspiration and excitement in people about having their special day at The McCormick.

Goals

  • Art Direction: Elegant, Inspiring, Fun, & Beautiful

  • Include a large amount of imagery to showcase The McCormick and its services and event space

  • Tell a story through the copy and imagery to help the reader imagine their own wedding

Solution

We decided to organize the book into chapters that mimicked phases of a wedding day. By selecting each photo from prior weddings at the McCormick, the brochure felt more specific to the venue, the grounds, and its offerings.
